Cream Gentian

Gentiana alba

Most gentians are blue; this one has white, cream, or yellowish flowers in typical closed gentian form, rather like a pointed balloon. The leaves occur in opposite pairs (or groups of 3 under the blooms) and are large, smooth, smooth-edged, with a noticeable 'keel', and clasp the stem.


1-2 feet, sun or partial sun,


Late Summer (July-September).

The flowers eventually open to reveal small seeds.
