Zizia aurea    

The lush foliage of spring, doubly compound, is topped with bright yellow umbels. These turn into seedheads of the same form after blooming.  Stems may turn reddish even in blooming season.

2-3 feet, partial sun.

Spring (May-June).

The foliage and stems of Golden Alexanders turn a clear red during the summer.
