Schreber's Aster

Eurybia schreberi (formerly Aster schreberi)

This specimen actually resembles more closely the White Wood Aster, but that plant is not listed as occurring in our range, only farther east.  Schreber's is similar but generally has larger basal leaves than this specimen, with a more open sinus where the stem joins and a greater number of teeth on leaf edge; but this specimen may not have grown to full size, it is only about 1 foot tall.

1-4 feet, partial shade to shade.

Late Summer (July-September).

Basal leaves.
