Willow Aster

Symphyotrichum praealtum (formerly Aster praealtus)

An attractive plant.  Flowers are lavendar, up to 3/4" across and often quite numerous. Lower leaves long (up to 5" or more), narrow, toothless, and closely adjoining the stem, which is often reddish and has lines of tiny hairs.  Upper leaves smaller. Lower leaves have a distinctive reticulation on the underside,
