Foxglove Beardtongue

Penstemon digitalis

The striking white to pinkish flowers, with their 3-lobed lower lip, cluster around the vertical stems. Leaves in pairs, large, sessile (attached to stem without a petiole), pointed, finely toothed.

2-4 feet, sun or partial sun.

Early Summer (June-July).

Note the large paired leaves attaching directly to the stem.
