Butter-and-Eggs (Common or Yellow Toadflax)

Linaria vulgaris

The familiar wild snapdragon, flowers in clusters, yellow with orange tip. Leaves are blue-green, numerous, and very slender.  This non-native plant is now widespread in North America and has a great many regional popular names.


1-3 feet, sun or part shade.


Summer-Autumn (June-October).

The stems with their many small leaves often recline on the ground or are only partly erect.
