Common Cinquefoil

Potentilla simplex

Flowers about 5/8" across and palmate clusters of five leaves spring from separate stems growing out of runners (often red). Individual leaves are toothes along all sides, up to 2 inches long, and tapering at both ends.

Roots form at nodes on the runners, so the plant often establishes itself in a dense colony.

recumbent, sun or partial shade.
