Dame's Rocket

Hesperis matronalis

This plant belongs to the Mustard family, and like other mustards its flowers, which resemble those of phlox, have four petals, rather than five. Flowers appear in clusters atop smooth stems and are varying shades from pink or purple to white. Leaves are ovate, pointed, and have modest teeth.


1-3 feet, partial sun.


Spring- Early Summer (May-July).
