Wild Geranium

Geranium maculatum

This plant, common in locations with light shade, has one or several five-petaled pink flowers (1-1/4 inches across) held above the foliage on thin green or reddish stems. The dark green foliage is usually five-lobed, about 3-4 inches wide, each lobe being further denticulated; some leaves below the flowers have only three lobes. Leaves and stems have a fine hair.


1-2 feet, partial sun.


Spring (April-June).

Growing from a rhizome, it can sometimes form small colonies of plants.
