Yellow Giant Hyssop

Agastache nepetoides

This member of the mint family produces floral heads (up to 6 inches long) of many small pale yellow tubular flowers, each about 1/2 inch long, that bloom irregularly on the head; the anthers that protrude from the flowers end in a tiny knob that is, like the rest of the flower, pale yellow or white. (Complare with Purple Giant Hyssop, A. scrophulariaefolia).  Stems are stout and square, many-branched to support flowering heads. Leaves resemble other Giant Hyssops: heart-shaped, pointed, with serrated edges.  

3-7 feet, partial shade.

Summer (June-September).

Flowers blooming irregularly around the blooming head, yellowish color.
