Pale Indian-Plantain

Arnoglossum atriplicifolium (formerly Cacalia atriplicifolia)

From a rosette of basal leaves emerges a tall, thick stalk that supports a flat-topped panicle of white flower clusters. The round stem is light green or purple.  Leaves--larger near the bottom of the plant--are large (8 inches or more across near the bottom) and deeply cut, somewhat resembling the shape of a maple leaf.


4-8 feet, partial sun.


Summer (July-September).
