Square-stemmed Monkey-Flower

Mimulus ringens

Blue flowers about 1 inch high bloom in pairs on stalks growing from leaf axils; they are of irregular form, something like a violet. The lower lip has a conspicuous spot of pale yellow-white. leaves are sessile, lance-shaped, about 3 inches long, narrow, coming to an acute tip, and have slightly serrated edges. The stalks are in fact 4-sided, as the name suggests.


1-3 feet, partial sun. Moist places.
