Partridge-Pea

Chamaecrista fasciculata (formerly Cassia fasciculata)

This attractive native annual produces bright yellow flowers with dark red centers for much of the summer from a succession of buds.  The foliage, also attractive, is pinnately compound, with each leaf containing many paired leaflets; the compound leaf may be 4 inches long, each leaflet about 1/2 inch.


1-2 feet, sun - partial sun.


Summer (July-September).

  Blooms with buds ready to replace them.
