Pickerelweed

Pontederia cordata

From roots under shallow water rise large arrowhead-shaped leaves with smooth, untoothed edges, and stems topped with a spike (up to 5 inches long) of tightly packed, small blue flowers. Usually forming colonies along river or lake banks or in marshes.


Aquatic; 1-4 feet, sun.
