The panicle of buds and blossoms can be up to one foot long; buds are small and spherical, individual blossoms a bit less than 1/2 inch across.  The large compound leaves consist of leaflets arrayed alternately on a reddish stem; each leaflet is up to 8 inches long and across, and is deeply divided into 2 - 5 pointed lobes with toothed or jagged edges.

2-8 feet, sun - partial sun. Prefers moist ground.

Summer (June-August).

The large leaves are deeply cut, with each lobe jagged-edged.
