Water-Plantain

Alisma triviale

An aquatic native plant, Water- Plantain has a clump of large basal leaves, up to 8 inches long (not counting the stocky stem), which are broad, ovate, and smooth-edged. The plant sends up shoots that branch frequently with each branch tip ending in a single tiny flower (1/4 inch across), consisting of 3 white petals with yellow bases, around a green center.



1-3 feet, sun - partial sun. In or beside water.



Summer (June-September).

The small (1/4 inch) 3-petaled flower.
