White Wild Indigo  (Prairie False-Indigo)

Baptisia leucantha  (Baptisia alba macrophylla)

Tall spikes of white flowers typical of the pea family rise above smooth green, compound leaves, each consisting of three round-ovate leaflets with smooth edges about an inch long.  

2-5 feet, sun.

Spring-Summer (May-July)

After blooming the spikes hold pods at first green, then finally black.
