Violet Wood-Sorrel

Oxalis violacea

This lovely little plant has foliage typical of most sorrels--a stem bearing three inverse heart-shaped leaves (i.e., they join at the point of the heart), and folded at the center. Above the low cluster of leaves, which usually reaches only a few inches above the ground, separate stems bear one or several trumpet-shaped flowers that flare into 5 broad lobes; the flowers have a white center, and the lobes vary in color from white to deep lavendar or pink.

Under 1 foot, sun - partial sun.

Spring-Summer (April-July).
